Call Recording
This privacy notice explains how we use recordings of video calls and phone calls.
When a call is recorded, we collect:
a digital recording of the telephone conversation
the telephone number of both parties (internal and external)
Personal data revealed during a telephone call will be digitally recorded, for example name and contact details to deliver appropriate services. Occasionally 'special category' personal information may be recorded where a client voluntarily discloses health, religious, ethnicity or criminal information to support their request for advice and/or services.
Telephone call recording will be turned off when a client’s credit or debit card details are given, in line with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCS DSS).
The primary purpose for recording voice and video calls is to ensure we are able to monitor and adhere to quality standards.
Call recordings may also be used to:
to assist in the quality monitoring of staff performance
to assist with staff training
to investigate and resolve complaints
for the detection, investigation and prevention of crime (including fraud)
to take actions to protect staff from abusive callers
All call recordings are held securely on a password-protected cloud-based VoIP provider.
We may be asked to share a call recording with our Corporate Complaints Officer in order for them to respond to a complaint.
We may be required or permitted, under Data Protection legislation, to disclose a call recording including your personal data without your explicit consent, for example if we have a legal obligation to do so, such as for:
Law enforcement
Fraud investigations
Regulation and licensing
Criminal prosecutions
Court proceedings

Recording of calls is necessary to protect the interests of you, our clients and our staff.
Recordings are kept securely and confidentially. If you request that a call recording and/or your personal data be deleted, we will delete all data, including call recordings, provided that:
the deletion of such information does not violate state or federal laws;
the data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which the information was originally collected; or
the data is not required for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, for archiving purposes in the public interest, or to exercise the right of freedom of expression and information.
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Privacy Notice or by another service Privacy Notice, then we'll provide you with a new notice. The new notice will explain this new use before we start the processing and set out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, we'll seek your consent to the new processing, if we start to use your personal data for a purpose not mentioned in this Privacy Notice.
If you have any questions about the Privacy Notice please contact us.
We will keep the call Recording Privacy Notice under review with an annual review.
General Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to portrait sessions, promotional offers, gift certificates, vouchers, competitions and online purchases made with Dezine by Mauro.
By booking, purchasing, redeeming a voucher, entering a competition, or attending a portrait session, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy.
Portrait Session Fees
Portrait session fees reserve studio time, photographer time, consultation time and the resources required to prepare for your session.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, portrait session fees include the portrait session itself, pre-session consultation and image viewing or reveal appointment.
Printed portraits, wall art, albums, digital images, box sets, bespoke art portraits and other finished products are purchased separately unless they are specifically included in the offer, voucher or promotion.
Session fees are generally not refundable if you change your mind, decide not to proceed, or are unable to attend after your session has been scheduled. However, Dezine by Mauro may consider refund requests in exceptional circumstances at its discretion.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Session Availability
Studio portrait sessions are generally available Tuesday to Friday at our Abbotsford studio.
Weekend appointments are not generally available unless specifically offered in writing.
After purchasing a session, redeeming a voucher or securing a promotional appointment, a member of our team will contact you to arrange your consultation and schedule your portrait session.
Pre-Session Consultation
Before your portrait session, we will arrange a consultation to help plan your shoot.
This may include discussing who will be photographed, the style of portraits you would like to create, clothing, styling, hair and makeup, pets, children, wall art, albums, and any specific ideas or preferences you may have.
This consultation helps us understand what will give you the best possible outcome from your session.
Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change.
Purchased portrait sessions include one complimentary reschedule when at least seven days’ notice is provided.
In many cases, we may also allow a second reschedule where there is a genuine reason and sufficient notice.
If a booking is repeatedly rescheduled, or if insufficient notice is provided, a rescheduling fee may apply before a new appointment is confirmed.
Late Arrivals and Missed Appointments
Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened or rescheduled, depending on studio availability and the appointments scheduled after yours.
If you do not attend your appointment and have not provided sufficient notice, your session fee, booking deposit or voucher may be forfeited.
Promotional Bookings, Vouchers and Gift Certificates
From time to time, Dezine by Mauro may offer promotional sessions, gift certificates, vouchers or special offers.
These offers may include a session fee discount, complimentary inclusions, product credit or other benefits. The specific inclusions and value of each offer will be stated at the time of issue.
Promotional offers, vouchers and gift certificates are not redeemable for cash.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, vouchers and promotional offers may not be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Promotional bookings may require a booking deposit to secure the appointment. This deposit may be refundable or redeemable toward portrait purchases, depending on the specific offer.
If you cancel late, fail to attend, or repeatedly reschedule your appointment, the booking deposit may be forfeited or a further booking fee may be required.
Hair and Makeup
Professional hair styling and makeup may be available as an optional add-on or may be included in selected offers.
If you have allergies, skin sensitivities, medical conditions, or any concerns relating to hair or makeup products, you must advise us before your appointment.
Pets, Children and Additional Participants
If pets are included in your session, they must be safe, supervised and under control at all times. Please advise us before your appointment if your pet has anxiety, aggression, handling concerns or any special requirements.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian must approve participation for anyone under 18 years of age.
Portrait Reveal and Product Selection
After your session, you will view your portraits and choose the images and products you wish to purchase.
You are not required to purchase every image.
Available products may include printed portraits, albums, wall art, box sets, digital images, bespoke art portraits and other finished products.
All product purchases are separate from the session fee unless specifically included in your offer, voucher or promotion.
Bespoke Art Portraits
Bespoke art portraits are custom creative artworks created from selected portraits.
These may involve additional creative editing, digital artistry, background design, compositing, retouching and finishing work.
Bespoke art portraits are premium custom products and may be quoted or priced separately from standard portrait products.
Orders, Payments and Changes
Orders for printed portraits, wall art, albums, digital images, bespoke art portraits and other products must be paid for according to the payment terms agreed at the time of purchase.
Because many products are custom-made, changes may not be possible once production has begun.
Custom orders may not be cancelled or refunded for change of mind once production has commenced.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Copyright and Image Use
All photographs, digital images, edited images, bespoke art portraits, artwork designs and related creative works produced by Dezine by Mauro remain the copyright of Dezine by Mauro, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Purchasing printed portraits, wall art, albums, digital images or other products does not transfer copyright ownership to the client.
Where digital images are purchased or supplied, the client receives a personal-use licence. This means the images may be used for personal purposes, such as sharing with family and friends, displaying at home, and posting on personal social media accounts.
Digital images may not be copied, altered, edited, filtered, commercially used, sold, entered into competitions, supplied to publications, used in advertising, or provided to third parties for business or promotional purposes without written permission from Dezine by Mauro.
Clients may not scan, photograph, reproduce, copy or create additional prints from printed portraits, albums, wall art or other finished products without written permission from Dezine by Mauro.
Dezine by Mauro respects client privacy and will not use client portraits for website, social media, advertising, portfolio, competition or promotional purposes unless the client has given permission or signed an appropriate image release.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
Use of Images
Dezine by Mauro respects your privacy.

Monthly main prize winners and recipients of participation gifts may be notified by phone, email or SMS.
Entrants may be eligible to enter from any state in Australia, but winners must travel to the Dezine by Mauro studio in Melbourne to redeem any photography prize unless otherwise stated in writing.
We may run multiple competitions or promotions across different portrait categories.
The first eligible entrant drawn in each competition category during the relevant competition period may be awarded the major prize, unless otherwise stated on the entry form.
Prize inclusions, prize value, product credit and any conditions will be stated on the relevant competition entry form or promotional material.
Prizes, gifts, vouchers and certificates awarded through competitions or promotions are not redeemable for cash.
Prizes, gifts, vouchers and certificates may not be redeemed for wedding photography services unless specifically stated in writing.
