After nearly 30 years in the photography industry, we knew it was time to create a studio that truly matched our vision.

Two years ago, we opened our purpose-built portrait studio in Abbotsford.
It was designed for people who want more than a simple photo session. Every part of the studio has been created to support the portrait process — from the first consultation and styling decisions through to the final image selection.
A studio designed for creative freedom
One of the biggest advantages of a purpose-built studio is variety.
Inside the Dezine by Mauro studio, we can create many different portrait styles without needing to leave the building. Some clients want something simple and timeless. Others want something dramatic, editorial, sensual, cinematic or deeply personal.
The studio gives us the flexibility to move between different looks, moods and settings during the same session.
That means your portraits do not need to feel like one repeated backdrop or one fixed style. Your session can be tailored around you.
Multiple custom sets
The studio includes a range of portrait areas, backgrounds, furniture, styling pieces and custom sets.
Some are clean and minimal.

Some are designed for elegant individual portraits.
Some are ideal for families, pets or more artistic work.
Whether you are drawn to something classic, modern, dramatic, soft, glamorous or editorial, the studio gives us the ability to shape the session around the portraits you want to create.
During your consultation, we will talk through the style you are drawn to and how you may want the finished images to feel. That helps us choose the right settings, lighting and direction for your session.
A dedicated makeup and styling area
For women’s portrait sessions, including Venus Rising and Sensuality Unleashed, professional hair styling and makeup can be included as part of the session.
The studio has a dedicated makeup and styling space where you can settle in before stepping in front of the camera.
This part of the process is not about changing who you are. It is about helping you feel polished, camera-ready and supported. Some clients want a natural look. Others want something more glamorous or expressive. The styling is planned around the portraits you want to create.
It also gives you time to relax into the studio before the photography begins.
Wardrobe, accessories and styling guidance
Clients are welcome to bring their own clothing, but the studio also includes wardrobe options, accessories and styling pieces that can help complete a look.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what will work. Part of the process is talking through your clothing, colours, textures, shapes and the mood you want the portraits to have.
A simple change of outfit can create a completely different feeling.
A jacket, dress, accessory, piece of jewellery, fabric or prop can help move a portrait from classic to editorial, from soft to dramatic, or from simple to highly personal.

For more intimate or boudoir-inspired sessions, areas of the studio can be blocked off to create additional privacy.

The studio is located in Abbotsford, making it convenient for clients across Melbourne.
There is dedicated parking, which helps make the arrival easier — especially when clients are bringing clothing, family members, pets or styling pieces for their session.
